With either short or floppy ears, a short or long glossy coat and almond-shaped eyes, the Chiweenie is definitely one of the cutest hybrids around.
They can have either a domed head like a Chihuahua or a Dachshund-like pointed snout.
A Chiweenie is a sweet little lap dog with a heart of gold. Also known as the Mexican Hotdog or German Taco, it’s a Dachshund/Chihuahua cross that first became popular in North America in the 1990s.
Despite being short of stature, the Chiweenie is fiercely loyal and will lavish you with heaps of love and affection.
Chiweenies are small with short legs, a long body, and tiny paws. They are friendly, lovable and energetic little dogs. I mean, sometimes they can be quite an attention seeking (who isn’t?), but they give a lot of love back in return.
